What Information Are Clients Looking For On Your Site

When it comes to building a website for your home inspection business, you always want to keep in mind the client.

The client is the whole reason you are creating a website in the first place.

Not only will potential customers look at your website to find out about your business and services, but they will also use your website to determine if they want to use your business.

 

That’s right. Think of your website as your first impression for the client. The website is something they will see before they meet you and before they use your services.

That’s why it’s extremely important to create a site that not only caters to the client on a professional level, but also answers any questions they may have about your, your business, or home inspection in general.

 

This guide is intended to give you an overview of what kind of information clients will be looking for on your home inspection business website.

 

  1. Hours of Operation.

    This one may seem so simple, but plenty of businesses forget about it. One of the very first things a potential customer wants to know is what your business hours are. And they don’t want to have to search all over to find them–otherwise they will give up and go with another business.

 

This means that you want to have your hours on the homepage of your website, very easy to see.

Consider putting them in the top right corner, right next to your business name. You can also include the hours at the bottom of the page, right underneath your business address.

 

  1. Address of Business.

    Again, this is crucial information that a client is going to want right up front. It shouldn’t be hidden or hard to find.

    A nice place to put the address is on the homepage of your website, at the very bottom. In fact, to make it even easier, you can have your address in two places.

    Include your address at the bottom of the homepage, as well as on a separate page titled “contact”.

 

Just like with hours, a client doesn’t want to have to search for this type of information.

If they have trouble finding the address of your business, they are simply going to move on. If you work from home, and don’t want to provide your home address, include a note, such as “By Appointment Only.”

 

  1. Contact Information.

    While we’re on the topic of your business information, clients also want to know how to contact you.

    The best thing to do is include this information on your homepage, as well as on a separate page titled “contact”. These are two concrete ways that will allow a potential customer to find your information quickly and easily.

 

With contact information you should have more than one way for a client to get a hold of you. Of course you should have a phone number, so clients can call you with questions or to set up services.

You should also have an address if you have a physical location, for customers that prefer to talk to a business in person.

You should also have a professional business email address, where customers can email when they have questions.

 

  1. Services Offered.

    Just because your business is in home inspection does not mean potential customers automatically know what kind of services you offer.

    On the flipside, you might offer services they didn’t even know they needed or could get.

 

You should have a separate page on your website titled something simple, like “Services”. Then, clearly list out what services you offer, with a brief description for each.

If you have a set price or rate for your services, make sure those are on the website as well. Customers like to know up front what they will be paying.

If you don’t have a price you can include with services, add a note such as “Call for custom quote.”

 

  1. Testimonials.

    A great way to get new customers, especially ones that are looking at your website and services for the very first time, is to include customer testimonials.

    These are basically reviews (good reviews) from people that have used your services before, and can attest that they are worthwhile.

    You want these testimonials to be real and truthful. If potential clients think that the reviews are fake, they will not use your business.

 

If you don’t have any testimonials right now, don’t worry. What you can do is ask previous customers if they would be willing to write one up for you.

You can even offer an incentive, like a discount or coupon for when they use their services again.

With new customers, you can ask them to write you a review when you’ve completed services for them. The most important thing to remember is that testimonials have to be honest and truthful.

 

  1. About Us Page.

    While this element of a website is less important than what is listed above, it is still useful to the client.

    This should be a separate page on your website that outlines who you are and what your business is. You can describe what you do, or what home inspectors in general do.

    You can talk about why your services are necessary, and what makes your business stand out from the others.

 

Clients come to a page like this when they aren’t completely certain what you do or how you can help them. This is also a page where clients are looking if you are a corporation, or a one-man business.

If you are a one-man business, or considered a small business, make sure to include it! In today’s economy, that is typically considered an advantage.

 

When it comes to your home inspection website, this is the type of information that a client is going to want and will be looking for.

By making sure you have all these items available and easy to find, you are sure to keep clients and potential customers happy.
